COMPLEX BALLOON TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR COSMIC RADIATION MEASUREMENTS

EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY

About the team

Our team was formed in October 2011 with the support of Hungarian research institutes and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics to submit a proposal for the 14th and 15th REXUS/BEXUS rocket and balloon flights.

One of the most important challenges was to find a name for the team. Finally we decided to choose the name TECHDOSE, which was the only possible acronym of the name of our proposed experiment (Development of a Complex Balloon Technology Platform for Advanced Cosmic Radiation and Dosimetric Measurements) that sounded well and could be pronounced at all.

Our proposal for REXUS/BEXUS was pre-selected and the team was invited to the Selection Workshop held in December 2011 at the European Space Research and Technology Center (ESTEC) located in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. Our proposal was presented by Balázs Zábori. After his presentation the team members answered the questions raised by the ESA experts.

One month later we were informed that our team was selected for the next BEXUS flight and so we can participate the related workshops, trainings, reviews and courses, and of course we can start working on our experiment.
